National Association of Women Business Owners continues to experience significant growth

RALEIGH, N.C. - 03-01-2007 - The Greater Raleigh Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the only organization dedicated solely to representing the interest of women entrepreneurs in all industries, today announced the addition of more than 35 sponsors, including 14 partner-level sponsors. These sponsorships are critical to the continued success of NAWBO and will allow the organization to continue to facilitate economic prosperity of a diverse membership of women business owners through mentoring, networking, education, and support.

"Women-owned businesses are one of the fastest growing business segments, both nationally and in the Triangle. Fostering the development of these companies contributes to the economic health of our community. As an 11-year member of the chapter, I have received much from it including business, ideas and friendships. Sponsorship is one way that Alternate Access can give back to the Greater Raleigh NAWBO chapter," says Adrienne Lumpkin, president of Alternate Access.

The Greater Raleigh NAWBO's partner-level sponsors include:

  • Alternate Access
  • Designs Down Under
  • Best Year Yet/Minton Enterprises

  • Progress Energy
  • Rex Healthcare
  • Smith Seal

  • Triangle Business Journal
  • Venture Management, Inc.

"A study by AllBusiness.com on the 'Best Metros for Women Entrepreneurs' recently ranked Raleigh-Cary MSA #1 in the country. This statistic speaks volumes as to the importance of women-owned businesses for the economic vitality of our area," stated Patti Galloway, Greater Raleigh NAWBO president. "By connecting women business owners to important resources for growing their businesses, we're providing a continuous opportunity for business development and success. Organizations such as NAWBO allow these women to maintain the necessary confidence and knowledge needed to succeed in 'a man's world.'"
